About Us

CertificationGuide is produced by Procertis, Inc. in Austin, Texas. All certification and licensure programs independently reviewed. No program pays for placement, listing, or appearance. No advertising or other fees accepted from any organization directly responsible for any certification or licensure program. The guiding principle of this site is to provide a directory for all certification programs. We feel strongly that all certification programs should offer full disclosure of their certification requirements, screening process, recertification requirements, test content development, and test delivery. There are many great certification programs. Unfortunately, there are also questionable programs that exist to sell credentials, misinform the public, and act as a shield for unskilled practitioners. Over the next year, we will continue to review, analyze, and publish certification information for the public free of conflicts of interest with advertsing fees and revenue.

Our editor is Phillip Barnhart. In the 1990s, he wrote two editions of a national certification directory. He has Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from Bellevue University. Mr. Barnhart has served as a public member of the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). In addition, he worked as a senior consultant for many firms deploying Internet applications and designed corporate testing and certification programs.
